Having completed the first year taster programme students, at the end of the first year, choose the option subjects they wish to keep on into the second year based on their interest, ability and potential for success in the subject.

Students preparing for their ‘New Junior Cycle’ will be required to take a maximum of 10 subjects for examination. Students will complete Classroom Based Assessments (CBA’s) at the end of the second year and again early in 3rd year. These will be recorded in student Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA) on completion of the junior cycle. More information can be found on the junior cycle website.
