Everything You Wanted to Know About European Language Week

European Language Week was celebrated in Scoil Mhuire from Monday Sept 25th to Friday Sept 29th 2017.

Transition Year students were set the task of organising events for the week and they truly rose to the challenge!

Activities included French Food Tastings for 3rd, 5th and 6th Yrs, a European Quiz and Spanish classes for 2nd Yrs, a French Treasure Hunt, French Crêpe-making and French Bingo for 1st Yrs, an Art competition for 1st, 2nd and 5th Yrs and finally the highlight of the week, the European Food Fair.

We were delighted this year to invite both St. Colman's Boys National School Kanturk and the Kanturk Girls Convent of Mercy to come and taste some of the national dishes of France, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Poland and Italy, all prepared by our excellent Transition Years.

The atmosphere was wonderful and it was very much enjoyed by all. Well done to all our students involved!
